Pumpkin Spice Syrup

INGREDIENTS


  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 pumpkin pie puree
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbs pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract



METHOD


  1. Combine all ingredients except vanilla extract and bring to a boil. 
  2. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the syrup starts to thicken and become fragrant.
  3. Take the syrup off the heat and add vanilla extract.
  4. Use an immersion blender (or regular blender) to make the syrup very smooth (Optional).
  5. Let the syrup cool before transferring into a syrup container.
  6. Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. Watch carefully for signs of spoilage. *


TIP

*If you add a shot of alcohol to the syrup, such as vodka, it will hold up longer in the fridge. Use your best judgment with this method if you are completely abstaining from alcohol. The amount of alcohol in each serving (1 TBS) will be marginal.
